Kenyans mourn Saitoti in solemn mass

Hundreds of Kenyans thronged the Holy Family Basilica, Nairobi to attend a funeral mass for the late Internal Security minister George Saitoti.

President Kibaki, Prime Minister Raila Odinga, Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka, cabinet ministers, MPs and ordinary Kenyans were on hand to pay their respects to the late Prof Saitoti.

He will be buried on Saturday at his Kitengela farm.

A requiem mass for internal security assistant minister Orwa Ojode was held on Friday.

Leaders praised the late Ojode as "a hero and a friend to all".

The two died after a plane crash last Sunday at Kibiku forest in Ngong. They were headed to the late Ojode's Ndhiwa constituency for a church function.

Also on board the fateful plane were two pilots and two security personnel.
