National Assembly Minority Leader Francis Nyenze is one of the people who have expressed dissatisfaction with the recently named NASA lineup. Nyenze is on record saying that the Kamba community got a raw deal in the in the lineup that was officially unveiled on Thursday last week.
His bone of contention and those of three other Ukambani Members of Parliament was failure by the National Super Alliance (NASA) to name Kalonzo Musyoka as the NASA presidential candidate. NASA instead settled ODM leader Raila Odinga as the captain in what has now been termed as a “2013 rematch”.
‘’In my own opinion the Kamba nation got a raw deal and we do not want anybody to take Kamba's for a ride," Nyenze said.
Nyenze has gone further to caution NASA that it will be difficult to convince the Kamba community to back the coalition as they expected one of their own to be the flag bearer.
Hon. Kalonzo Musyoka has however hit back at Nyenze saying the Kamba nation is firmly and solidly behind NASA, the only credible vehicle to take over the reigns of power in the coming polls.
‘’While I appreciate and respect Hon. Nyenze's personal feeling that I should have been the NASA Presidential flag bearer, it has come to a point that I should now call Hon Nyenze to order.’’ Kalonzo said.
‘’From the very onset, let me assure the Kamba nation and NASA fraternity that I, Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka, the Wiper party leader have no reservations over the NASA line up which places me at number two as we seek to dislodge the corrupt Jubilee administration from power.’’
He termed Nyenze’s statements as misguided and do not in any way reflect Kalonzo’s thinking or the stand of the Wiper party.
‘’When I said I was the best placed candidate to dislodge Jubilee from power, I also indicated I was ready, if reasonably convinced, to sacrifice my ambitions for any of my brothers in the NASA family. The fight has never been about personal achievement, aggrandizement or perpetuation but a fight to redeem this country and establish structures that would grow the country's economy for the betterment of citizenry. ‘’ Kalonzo added.
‘’This, I am convinced, will be achieved through the NASA line up and which I urge all Kenyans of goodwill to support and sacrifice for.’’
